Hmm...

Found out today that there's a Center for Vulvar Diseases here at my institution. Forgive me if you suffer from a vulvar disorder, but I didn't realize there was such a prevalence of disorders that there needed to be specific center for it. If you don't know what a vulva is... you shouldn't be reading this (or look it up)

WARNING: If you decide to do a little research after this post to find out how many vulvar diseases there could possibly be, DO NOT click on the Vulvar Disease Atlas from this page.

It should have a warning: FOR MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS ONLY.

For the first time in my life, I was glad I didn't go to medical school. ;)

Maybe they misspelled "valvular".

My worst moment on my clinical core ob/gyn rotation was seeing a post-op patient. I nicely took her ice-pack so I could refill it with ice. I had it in the crook of my arm...smelled it...realized she was postop from a vulvar resection...and held it far away from me for the rest of the trip down the hall. And really wished that I had gotten a new ice pack.
One of the many factors that drove me to psychiatry.
