2 thoracic rooms, only 2 cases
one room is a late start, so no having to try to start two rooms at the same time.
Come in... pull up the computer to double check the patient's histories...
Hmmm... double lung transplant.

I imagine that "double lung transplant" has to be quite the "morning surprise"...
Hope you weren't thrown too much of a curve -- and thanks for doing what you're doing and getting it done...
I know it's a lot of work on very short notice -- but I'll tell you, from my perspective, it's a lot of bang for the buck -- it's freaking, mind-blowingly amazing... I lived for almost 40 years with crappy, cystic fibrosis lungs -- trying to suck O2 into lungs with around 10% capacity... It would probably be more fair to call them "puss-bags" than lungs, but they served me for almost 40 years...
Thanks to you, and a lot of people like you, I'm breathing with beautiful, new lungs now. A gift from a precious 17-year-old girl and her family -- but delivered and installed by folks like you...
It was over eight years ago that these beautiful, new lungs were installed -- and I still walk around in awe of how this feels... I got to meet my anesthesiologist -- I got to give her a hug... I've met my donor family... I've become friends with several of my donor's friends -- they're like precious, adopted daughters to me now...

On behalf of that double lung transplant you had in one of your rooms -- and all of the people you've helped over the years -- and just from me too -- thank you. This has been a gift beyond my wildest imagination -- beyond my wildest dreams... I think about the precious girl who saved my life every day -- I can see her smile when I close my eyes...
I also think about the folks like you who let me receive her gift...
